The Montreal police (SPVM) arson squad is investigating a suspicious fire at a bar on Papineau Avenue in the Petite-Patrie neighbourhood. Police and firefighters responded to 911 calls at 6:05 a.m. after a fire was reported at Bar Le Saint-Zo on the corner of St-Zotique Street. SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford said that when officers arrived, firefighters had the blaze under control. However, there was significant damage to the establishment, and incendiary elements were reportedly found on the scene. No one was injured in the blaze. The file was transferred to the SPVM arson squad. The investigation is ongoing.
