Alouettes advance to playoffs, with at least one home game after Ottawa loss

Thanks to Ottawa’s loss, the Montreal Alouettes advanced to the CFL playoffs on Friday, where they will host at least one game.

The Alouettes secured their spot thanks to the Redblacks’ 20-13 loss on Friday night in Ottawa against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

On a bye this week, Montreal has an 8-7 record and 16 points.

Two of the Alouettes’ three remaining regular-season games will be against the Redblacks: on Oct. 13 at Percival Molson Stadium and on Oct. 18 in the nation’s capital.

Montreal will complete its regular season schedule on Oct. 25 against the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg.

The Eastern Conference semi-final will be played on Nov. 1, seven days before the Eastern Conference final.

The Grey Cup game will take place on Nov. 16 at the Blue Bombers’ home stadium.

The Alouettes have turned their season around with three straight wins after losing five games in a row.
