A young Syrian girl who recently captured J.K. Rowling's attention on Twitter has lost her home in a bombing in Aleppo, according to a series of tweets.

Bana Alabed, 7, whose popular Twitter account is run by her mother Fatemah, tweeted on Sunday night that her family has "no house, it's bombed and I got in rubble. I saw deaths and I almost died." The message followed an earlier tweet bidding farewell to the account's 143,000 followers.

"When we die, keep talking for 200,000 still inside. BYE."

Alabed posted two more updates after the apparent bombing, 12 and 17 hours later. Both tweets indicate the bombardments continued for hours, with the latest tweet saying the family is "on the run as many people killed right now… We are fighting for our lives. Still with you."

Bana Alabed and her mother have been tweeting about their experiences in East Aleppo for several months, posting photos of life in their neighbourhood, including bomb attacks and the devastation they cause.

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling recently sent Alabed digital versions of her book series, after the girl tweeted her love for the movies.

Alabed's Twitter account shows her reading the books with her younger brothers in a series of photos from the last week. However, the tweets have been interspersed between images of dust clouds from bombs, and one bloody photo of Alabed's friend who was killed in an attack.
