GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. - A public memorial service will be held this morning in a northern Alberta arena for four high school football players.

The teens from Grande Prairie were killed last weekend when police say a pickup truck slammed into their car.

A fifth teen remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Today's service follows a dramatic win Saturday by the boys' team, the Warriors.

They routed the Sexsmith Sabres 40-0 in the Mighty Peace Football League semi-final game, advancing to their league's championship.

Coach Rick Gilson says it was particularly emotional during the moment of silence before the start of the game.

But he says the team remained focused after the kickoff.

Twenty-one-year-old Brenden Holubowich faces various charges in connection with the crash, including drunk driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident.

The suspect is due to appear in court again on Monday to face the allegations against him.
