MONTREAL - A man has turned himself into police in connection with a string of firebombings of Italian coffee shops in Montreal.
Police say Mickendy Demosthene appeared in court Wednesday and was charged with arson and break-and-enter.
The 18-year-old was wanted in connection with a wave of Molotov cocktail attacks against about a dozen local establishments since September.
Authorities were initially stumped, because the victims who owned the coffee shops weren't talking.
They weren't sure whether the attacks stemmed from a Mafia war, or whether street gangs were making a move onto the Mob's turf.
Police are now suggesting the case is linked to street gangs.
Other arrests are expected in the case.
