Lotto Max sales up 102 per cent for $50 million draw

TORONTO - People looking for stocking stuffers appear to be snapping up tickets for Friday night's Lotto Max draw.

The Christmas Eve draw is worth $50 million -- a level not seen since October.

There are also 10 Maxmillions draws worth $1 million each across Canada plus six bonus Maxmillions draws of $1 million each in Ontario.

Back in June, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation promised to draw 55 Maxmillions but only drew 49 so the bonus draws in Ontario are to make up for that.

OLG spokeswoman Sarah Kiriliuk says ticket sales are up 102 per cent this week over sales last week and up 50 per cent over sales the last time the jackpot hit the maximum.
