Have you got a last minute case of Olympic fever? The greatest show on Earth may be only eight days away, but it is still possible to go.

As you make your plans, here are a couple of key tips to keep in mind:

  • Avoid travelling at the beginning or end of the Games when the world will be traveling to and from Vancouver -- go during the Olympics;
  • For hotels, believe it or not Whistler has inventory for every day of the Games and there are a number of options outside the downtown core of Vancouver available as well;
  • Consider a B&B, renting an RV, or renting a private home;
  • The prices and availability on plane tickets seem to be changing constantly, so keep checking;
  • For event tickets, VANOC has a fan-to-fan marketplace, ticket re-saler "stubhub" has some available, and the official seller of Olympic tickets ‘cosport' has tickets still available to many events that have been released back into inventory;
  • All that being said, if you go, you will pay for the experience. Don't expect a bargain.
