Cleanup crews were on site early Sunday morning trying to temporarily clean up the aftermath of a car striking an apartment building. According to police, emergency crews responded around 4:20 a.m. to a new building at 955 Southdale Road East. Police describe the incident as a hit and run and witnesses told CTV News, a white car allegedly left the road at the intersection of Southdale Road and Millbank Drive, drove up a path, destroying part of a gazebo and crashing into the side of building. The part of the building on the ground floor where the car hit was not an apartment unit, but a communal space. The car has been removed from the building.
