Police have released the identity of a suspect and victim following a fatal overnight shooting in London’s Old East Village over the weekend. As previously reported by CTV News, shortly before 4 a.m. on Jan. 25, a citizen called 911 after hearing multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, police located two adult male victims. One was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, while the second was sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased has since been identified as Ramone Thomas, 26, of Toronto. On Thursday, London police announced a male suspect had been arrested in connection to the homicide. The accused has since been identified as Matthew Yousufy, 26, of London. He is facing the following charges for his alleged involvement: The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to re appear in London court on Feb. 5, 2026, in relation to the charges.
