A person has been recovered from the water in Sarnia following an extensive search operation near The Cove involving multiple emergency services and community partners. Emergency crews were called to reports of a possible drowning shortly after 3 p.m. Monday. Sarnia Fire Rescue said it immediately deployed three marine units while additional firefighters responded by land. Witnesses at the scene also assisted in the initial search. The operation continued for nearly six hours, with crews using specialized equipment aboard the department’s marine vessels, including sonar and 3D imaging technology. The individual was located and recovered from the water after several hours of searching. Authorities have not released the person’s identity. In a statement, Sarnia Fire Rescue extended its condolences to the individual’s family and friends and thanked the agencies, organizations and members of the public who assisted in the search.
