London police are on scene of an overnight shooting in the 700 block of Dundas Street. First responders were called to the area around 4 a.m., and police confirm a shooting did occur. “Officers responded and located two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. One person has since been declared deceased, and the second person was transported to London Health Sciences Center, where they are receiving treatment,” said Acting Detective Inspector Adam Steele in an interview with CTV News. Multiple officers have been stationed at Hewitt Street and in front of a nearby residence while the investigation continues. “We’re still trying to determine the exact location of the incident and work through any potential evidence and scenes that we may have, we’re appealing to members of the public too if they have any information, to please call Crime Stoppers or London Police Service and share that information. We’re also looking for any dash cam footage that may be available or video surveillance that may be available in that area,” added Steele. This is an ongoing investigation and police confirmed to CTV they will be releasing further details when available. This incident occurred steps away from London’s first homicide of 2026, where a stabbing at a London apartment complex claimed the life of a 45-year-old man and led to the arrest of a 38-year-old. “Any time there’s incidents of gunfire in the City of London, the London Police Services is going to take that very seriously,” said Steele. “We are dedicating as much resources as we possibly can to ensure that we bring this to a safe conclusion and ensure the safety of the citizens of London.” The investigation has been reassigned to the Major Crime Section. No arrests have been made at this time.
