Forest City to see mild Christmas Day, risk of freezing rain on Boxing Day

While Christmas will be a beautiful and mild day for the London region, Boxing Day might be anything but.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Friday, warning of ice accumulation from five to 10 mm.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, London will see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 2C on Christmas Eve. Cloud cover will increase overnight, with an overnight low of – 1C.

A chance of a green Christmas persists on Thursday, with a daytime high of 3C and mainly cloudy skies that’ll clear in the afternoon. Winds will be sustained at 20 km/h and gusting to 40 km/h in the morning.

The weather takes a shift on Friday however with a high of 1C and a chance of freezing rain or rain. The risk of freezing rain or rain will continue into the overnight hours, with a low of – 2C.
