Clinton’s emergency department will be open longer in 2025. The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance announced that starting on Jan. 20, 2025, the Clinton Hospital ER will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It has previously been open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. “As part of a regional system of emergency care, our Clinton Public Hospital Emergency Department Team continues to provide outstanding care to those served and the HPHA remains committed to ensuring responsible access to safe and timely care,” said Andrew Williams, Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance president and CEO. Clinton’s Emergency Department has been closed in the overnight hours since Dec. 2, 2019. That’s more than five years. Hospital officials say that a shortage of qualified nurses is to blame for the ongoing ER closure.
