New charges have been laid in the investigation on Chesham Avenue after chemicals capable of making explosives were discovered at a home earlier in the week. According to a news release issued Thursday, the London Police Service announced new charges had been laid in the Chesham Avenue and Western University investigation. Jerry Tong, 27, of Ottawa, and Zekun Wang, 26, of London, have each been charged with one count of unlawful possession of explosives. Police add they do not have an exact timeline, but Chesham Avenue residents can expect to see a police presence for an “extended period of time.” Tong has been previously charged with: Ton has been previously charged with: In addition, Fei (Frank) Han, 25, of London, and Feiyang (Astrid) Ji, 21, of London, have each been charged with unlawful possession of explosives. All four accused remain in custody. The investigation began on Jan. 24 at approximately 1:40 a.m. when London police and the Western University Special Constable Service responded to a trespasser on campus and the discovery of a loaded handgun. The investigation took police to a home on Chesham Avenue, where “hazardous chemicals capable of being used to create explosives” were discovered. According to court records obtained by CTV News, three of the four individuals arrested in connection to the investigation reside at the home on Chesham Place.
