(Relaxnews) - It’s being pitched as the food version of dating app Tinder: swipe right to save a recipe, swipe left to throw it away.

Even its name is co-opted from the popular dating app as it's called Tender.

Like Tinder, users are presented with photos of dishes curated from blogs and food sites around the world.

After ogling the dish, scanning its profile, and making snap judgements on its outward appearance, users do one of two things: swipe left if the dish doesn’t whet their appetite, or swipe right if they see any spark of potential for the recipe to become a regular part of their culinary repertoire.

Recipes include dishes such as linguine in herbed artichoke sauce, “serious” mapo tofu, and blueberry lemon ginger cookies.

Have a very specific style of food you’re attracted to? Users can filter their search, by checking categories such as vegan, vegetarian and chicken.

Saved recipes are archived in a digital cookbook and can also be shared with friends.

Though it doesn’t offer the same “swipe-to-save” interface, Yummly is another popular recipe-curating app, along with Food.com and the user-generated app from Allrecipes.com.
