Butter Tarts from Tartistry
Pastry
- 1 cup 12 grain flour
- 1 1/2 cups organic white flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup ice water
Maple Syrup Filling
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or organic syrup
- 1/3 cup soft butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnut or pecans
- 1/4 cup dried currants
- 1/4 cup raisins
Pecans, walnuts, raisins and currants are all optional..you can put in all or none.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes. Turn oven off and leave in for another 10 minutes.
