An eighteenth century English mansion that was fit for a future queen has been listed for sale at $55 million.

Woolmer’s Park, north of London, belonged to the Queen Mother’s parents, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore. They owned it from the 1920s until 1949, when it was purchased by Arthur Lucas, who built the Hertfordshire Polo Club on the site while continuing to live in the home. It was sold again to current owner Jeff Godbold in 1997.

The estate where Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret once played is impressive. It comes with:

  • 107 hectares of land
  • 5 reception rooms
  • 8 bedrooms
  • 8 bathrooms
  • 2-bedroom staff flat
  • 1 cinema
  • 1 polo club still on site
  • 1 tennis court
  • 1 hour drive to Buckingham Palace
  • 0 public rights of way
