A Guelph woman has been arrested for a robbery at an east-end business. A customer who was at the store near York Road and Victoria Road South called 911 on Oct. 7 around 6:10 a.m. They said they found a clerk in pain inside the shop. The customer told the Guelph Police Service she had seen a woman leave the store shortly before she discovered the employee. When officers arrived, they could smell a noxious substance in the store. The clerk said they had refused to sell the woman alcohol because of the time of day. The woman then took something out of her pocket and sprayed the worker in the face and left with merchandise. On Tuesday morning, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for robbery with a weapon and administering a noxious substance.
