Guelph Police say a place of worship has been vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti at least three times in the last month. “Since the end of May, police have repeatedly been called to a location near Gordon Street and College Avenue,” a media release said. Police did not identify the place of worship, but Chabad Guelph told CTV News that their pop-up location had previously been hit with “heinous anti-Semitic graffiti.” The latest incident was reported at 1:45 a.m. Saturday. “It is not known if the three incidents are related,” the release said. Police also shared two images of a person they are trying to identify as part of their investigation. The individual was wearing all black, carried a black backpack and had a bike. “We want to assure the public that we take all reported crime, including hate-motivated crime, very seriously,” the media release said, noting that the case was now in the hands of Guelph Police’s Hate Crime Investigative Unit. Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to email HateCrimeInvestigativeGroup@guelphpolice.ca.
