Two women say a Guelph man intimidated them with weapons after one of them refused to give him cigarettes. Guelph Police Service officers were called to an apartment building on Speedvale Avenue East just before 3 p.m. Monday. They were told a man approached a woman he knew and asked her for cigarettes. When she turned him down, she said he got a baseball bat and smashed her window. The man then reportedly went to another woman he knew. Police were told he approached her while banging the bat on the ground. The man dropped the bat, picked up a golf club and raised it up over his head before chasing the second woman around the parking lot. Officers arrested the 66-year-old man and charged him with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, four counts of breaching probation orders and two counts of breaching bail conditions.
