A Guelph man is facing real charges after making multiple fake calls to 911. The Guelph Police Service got the first call around 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday. They said the caller wanted to be anonymous, but claimed he could hear a child being abused at a home in the city’s east-end. Twenty minutes later, police got a second call. Investigators learned who the caller was, and determined he was actually several kilometres away from the address he had called about. At the time, he was also being investigated for breaching a release condition. The 24-year-old man was charged with public mischief and failure to comply with an undertaking.
