A 13-year-old boy allegedly threatened to shoot students at a Guelph high school. Guelph Police said the teen posted the messages in an online chat. “The threats targeted two specific students as well as the wider school community,” they wrote in a media release. Police said students told their principal about the threats, who then contacted police. The 13-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with three counts of uttering threats. “The Guelph Police Service recognizes the importance of school safety and how threats of this nature can be difficult for students, staff and their families,” the release said. “Police take incidents like this extremely seriously and will continue to work closely with school boards to help identify the individuals responsible and lay the appropriate criminal charges when a suspect is identified.”
