A 40-year-old woman has been charged with the first-degree murder of a Kitchener woman. The Waterloo Regional Police Service was called to a disturbance at a home in the Highland Road West and Patricia Avenue area on Monday around 12:50 p.m. Investigators said, when they arrived at the home, they discovered the body of a 44-year-old woman. By 9 p.m., police confirmed a 40-year-old woman from Kitchener had been charged with first-degree murder. Investigators believed the two women knew each other. A person who used to live in the complex spoke to CTV News on Monday night. “There were over 20 police cars. There were two different forensics vehicles. There was four ambulances and three fire trucks,” she described. “Straight out of a TV show, like straight out of ‘Cops’ or a horror movie. It was it was quite the scene to see.” The former resident also worried for the children who live in the area. “Watching little kids go underneath the yellow tape was probably the hardest thing, knowing that those kids are going to be traumatized and asking their parents, ‘Why is there yellow tape?’” she explained.
