A library in Waterloo will close later this summer as part of a major expansion project. Patrons will no longer be able to visit the McCormick Branch starting on Aug. 24 as crews begin renovations. Some of the new features will include a maker space, an expanded children’s area, study rooms and a dedicated program room. In the meantime, the library will be offering limited services at a pop-up location in the Albert McCormick Community Centre. Starting on Sept. 14, visitors can borrow and browse through a selection of books and other materials, access public computers and participate in select programs. The McCormick Branch is expected to reopen in early 2028.
