Charges are anticipated in a crash that closed Oxford-Waterloo Road, south of New Hamburg, on Thursday afternoon. Waterloo Regional Police said the driver of a fuel truck lost control while making a right turn at Walker Road. It then overturned and struck a pickup truck that was passing by. The tanker ended up on its side, spilling diesel across the road. Police said the driver of the fuel truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the pickup was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the crash. The Ministry of the Environment was also contacted. Police said they continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
