Guelph Police are investigating a break-in at a south-end home. They were contacted on Saturday by a woman living near Ironwood Road and Hilldale Crescent. She said she had been away for a few days and, upon her return, discovered her home had been ransacked. The thief allegedly got inside by smashing the back door. The victim said they stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, silverware, personal identification and cash. Police are also investigating another break-in, also in the south-end of the city. They said a burglar alarm went off Friday night at a home near Downey Road and Pheasant Run Drive. The officers who responded to the scene found a broken window at the back of the home. Police said it’s not known if anything was taken. Anyone with information are asked to contact Guelph Police at 519-824-1212.
