The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating three break and enters where suspects got into the homes by smashing through glass doors at the back of the home. The first two incidents happened on Aug. 26 in the Patton Drive and Bartleman Crescent area of Cambridge. Police said both break-ins happened between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The third break and enter happened in the Driftwood Drive area on Aug. 29 around 10 p.m. In that case, police said the residents came home and discovered the break and enter in progress. “Police are noticing a trend involving residential break and enters where suspects target homes that back onto greenspaces, trails, parks, or wooded areas. Investigators are reminding residents in these areas to take additional precautions to help protect their property,” a police release published on Tuesday said. Anyone who lives near either area is encouraged to check security footage for anything suspicious.
