We are learning more about when people will be able to take a weekend GO train trip between Kitchener to Toronto. Last month, the province announced four GO trains that had previously stopped at Mount Pleasant GO would be continuing on to the Kitchener station starting on Nov. 23. On Tuesday, GO Transit released the new schedule. Weekend trains will be leaving Kitchener GO at 7:40 a.m. and 3:49 p.m., making all stops to Union Station. The trains should arrive in Toronto at 9:35 a.m. and 5:35 p.m. In the other direction, trains will be leaving Union Station at 4:48 p.m. and 10:48 p.m., making all stops to Kitchener. The trains should arrive at 6:38 p.m. and 12:38 a.m. Meanwhile, one weekday westbound train is being extended to Kitchener. The train that leaves Union Station at 10:34 p.m. will now arrive at the Kitchener GO Station at 12:26 a.m. Representatives for the provincial and municipal governments have hailed the changes as the first steps towards true two-way, all-day service between Kitchener and Toronto. However, there is still no definitive timeline for when that might happen.
