People from Brantford and Kitchener are facing dozens of charges after a home invasion in Oakville last month. Three masked suspects forced their way into a home on Settlers Drive in Oakville on Feb. 24 around 10 a.m. One of the suspects carried a hammer. The Halton Regional Police Service said a woman confronted the trio and was trapped in a closet while the suspects stole designer clothing worth more than $70,000. The suspects then drove off in a Honda CRV. On March 13, officers searched homes in Brantford and seized 4.5 ounces of crack cocaine, 12 ounces of fentanyl, a kilogram of cocaine, 120 hydromorphone pills, 25 ounces of methamphetamine, two loaded Glock handguns, a loaded Glock magazine, multiple rounds of ammunition, a Honda CRV that had been stolen from Toronto, licence plates stole from Brantford and property stolen during the home invasion in Oakville. A 32-year-old man from Brantford has been charged with robbery, break and enter, disguise with intent, forcible confinement, two counts of possession of a loaded firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of knowledge of an unauthorized firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of a prohibited firearm, careless storage of a prohibited device, careless storage of ammunition, five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a firearm contrary to an order and failure to comply with a sentence or disposition. A 30-year-old man from Kitchener was charged with robbery, break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. A 32-year-old woman from Brantford has been charged with two counts of possession of a loaded firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of a prohibited device, careless storage of ammunition, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. A 27-year-old man from Brantford has been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
