Environment Canada has issued a yellow cold warning for parts of southwestern Ontario, including Waterloo Region and Guelph, as dangerously low wind chills are expected to continue into early Sunday morning. The agency says wind chill values could reach between minus 25 and minus 30, posing a risk of frostbite on exposed skin within minutes. Officials are urging residents to dress in layers and cover all skin when venturing outdoors. “If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside,” Environment Canada said. “Watch for colour changes on fingers and toes, pain, numbness, a tingling sensation, or swelling. If present, move indoors and begin warming.” The warning is in effect throughout Saturday night into Sunday.
