A driver is facing three charges as part of an investigation into a hit-and-run in Fergus. The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were called to the intersection of Millburn Boulevard and St. David Street South on Monday around 2:15 p.m. They were told a pedestrian was using the crosswalk when a driver ignored a stop sign, hit the pedestrian and then drove off. Officers were told the pedestrian had to hit the hood of the vehicle multiple times to get the driver to stop. No one was hurt. The driver, a 74-year-old Fergus man, was charged with careless driving, failure to remain at the scene of a collision and failure to surrender insurance card upon demand.
