The Waterloo Regional Police Service have issued a public safety notification a charged man who has recently been released on bail into the community. Gregory Zehr, a 44-year-old St. Thomas man, was charged by the London Police Service with sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, kidnapping, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and uttering threats of death or bodily harm in connection to a report of an incident that occurred in London, Ontario on June 4, 2026. He was released on bail conditions after a court appearance on Wednesday and is residing in New Hamburg, Ont. Zehr is bound by the following conditions: residing in New Hamburg, Ont., remaining in the residence or the property of the residence 24 hours a day unless in the presence of surety, having no access to a computer or the internet, and not possessing any weapons. “WRPS is releasing this information because it believes doing so is necessary for public safety and to keep the public informed,” they said in a media release. Police urge the public to not approach Zehr and call 911 immediately if he is seen breaching his release conditions.
