A Cambridge man’s Lightning Lotto purchase struck gold. Steve Szakaly, a grandfather to three and a loyal lottery player, won the top prize of $158,178 on April 12. He bought the ticket while at the Canadian Tire Gas+ on Fountain Street South in Cambridge to fill up his tank. “While paying for gas, I decided to ask for a LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket,” Szakaly shared while he was at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings. “At first, I didn’t realize it was a big win. When I found out I’d won the top prize, I was shocked but very happy!” Szakaly said he plans to use the money to renovate his bathroom, as well as for bills, savings and investing for the future.
