A man wanted for a shooting in Waterloo has been arrested. Waterloo Regional Police said it happened around 11 p.m. on May 18, 2024 at an unnamed business near King Street North and University Avenue West. “Officers determined that a disturbance had taken place inside a business and shots had been fired,” Const. Brad Hickey previously told CTV News. No one was hurt. Police began looking for a man they identified as Jalen Belle-McCormack, who was wanted on at least eight charges, including careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon, pointing a firearm, two counts of failing to comply with a judicial order and breaching probation. On Friday, police arrested Jalen Belle-McCormack on those outstanding charges and he was held for a bail hearing.
