Wellington County OPP have arrested a man who allegedly stole a motorcycle during a test drive in Puslinch Township. Investigators said the “buyer” had responded to an ad in an online marketplace and arranged to meet the seller early Saturday morning. He took the motorcycle for a spin, but never returned. While on scene, officers noted that the suspect had left his own motorcycle at the seller’s property. They also discovered a tar-like substance covering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in an attempt to avoid detection. Wellington County OPP worked alongside neighbouring OPP departments in order locate and arrest the suspect. A 31-year-old man from Crystal Beach, Ont. was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, as well as altering, destroying or removing a vehicle identification number.
