Air Canada is offering up seats on its shuttle service for passengers left stranded by the sudden shutdown of Airways Transit. The only catch is they already have to have a flight booked with Air Canada. The airline said travellers from Kitchener-Waterloo and Hamilton can add a Landline motorcoach trip to Toronto’s Pearson Airport at no extra cost. On the day of their flight, they can check their bags and pick up their boarding pass from their local airport. The bus will then drop passengers off at the doors to Terminal 1. Airways Transit confirmed to CTV News last month it would cease operations as of Feb. 21. The company cited its inability to turn a profit following a “significant” drop-off in sales during the pandemic. “It has become clear that continuing operations is no longer viable,” they wrote. Air Canada’s Landline offer is only available from Feb. 25 to April 30. Travellers are asked to contact the airline’s contact centre to discuss options.
