BRANDON, Man - Grain has been dumped in front of a Manitoba MP's office to protest the federal government's move against the Canadian Wheat Board.

It's not clear who was behind the deposit at Merv Tweed's office in Brandon.

Several farmers were talking to his staff about the wheat board at the time.

Fred Tate says it was a symbolic way to show that producers will be giving their grain away if the board loses its marketing monopoly.

The Harper government has tabled legislation to abolish the monopoly on wheat and barley by next August.

Tate says farmers have had difficulty reaching their MPs to talk about the wheat board.

"You can't get a meeting with your MP," he said. "Part of the group here are represented by Merv Tweed. They've been trying and trying to get a meeting.

"I've been trying for four months to get a meeting with my MP Candice Hoeppner and it's always the same: 'We don't have an appointment time for you."'
