Evan Solomon

He was previously the host of CTV’s weekly political journal of record, QUESTION PERIOD, and Host of CTV News Channel’s marquee political program, POWER PLAY.
Born and raised in Toronto, Solomon is a two-time Gemini Award-winner and best-selling author who has covered federal and provincial politics, news, and current events for more than 15 years. Throughout his career, Solomon has interviewed many key political players, from prime ministers, world leaders, and U.S. presidents, to the Dalai Lama and Jimmy Carter, among others.
Before joining Bell Media, Solomon was the Executive Producer and Host of daily SiriusXM radio program EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. Previously, he hosted CBC News’ POWER AND POLITICS WITH EVAN SOLOMON, and was also Host of CBC Radio’s THE HOUSE. During that time, Solomon also anchored various specials on the Federal Budget, Canada Day and the Speech from the Throne, and was a regular backup anchor for THE NATIONAL.
Solomon was previously the co-host of weekly current affairs newsmagazine and Gemini award-winning programs CBC NEWS: SUNDAY and CBC NEWS: SUNDAY NIGHT, covering politics, culture, and events all over the world – from the elections in Iran, to the navy’s battle against piracy in the Persian Gulf, and the aftermath of the Tsunami in Indonesia.
Solomon also hosted award-winning program HOT TYPE and FUTUREWORLD on CBC, and hosted a series called THE CHANGE MAKERS, along with a series for PBS in the U.S. called MASTERS OF TECHNOLOGY.
