National Affairs Specialist, Bell Media Radio, and Host, CTV's QUESTION PERIOD

Based in Ottawa, Evan Solomon is Bell Media Radio’s National Affairs Specialist and Host of CTV’s weekly political journal of record, QUESTION PERIOD. Solomon is also Host of REAL TALK WITH EVAN SOLOMON, a nationally syndicated radio program on Bell Media Radio, and Executive Producer and Host of the daily CFRA Ottawa radio program OTTAWA NOW WITH EVAN SOLOMON. The two-time Gemini Award winner and best-selling author has covered federal and provincial politics, news, and current events for more than 15 years. Solomon also writes a column for Maclean’s magazine.

Throughout his journalism career, Solomon has interviewed many key political players, from prime ministers, world leaders, and U.S. presidents, to the Dalai Lama and Henry Kissinger, among others.

Before joining Bell Media, Solomon was the Executive Producer and Host of daily SiriusXM radio program EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. Previously, he hosted CBC News’ POWER AND POLITICS WITH EVAN SOLOMON,and was also Host of CBC Radio’s THE HOUSE. During that time,Solomon also anchored various specials on the Federal Budget, Canada Day and the Speech from the Throne, and was a regular backup anchor for THE NATIONAL.

Solomon was previously the co-host of weekly current affairs newsmagazine and Gemini award-winning programs CBC NEWS: SUNDAY and CBC NEWS: SUNDAY NIGHT, covering politics, culture, and events all over the world – from the elections in Iran, to the navy’s battle against piracy in the Persian Gulf, and the aftermath of the Tsunami in Indonesia.

Solomon also hosted award-winning program HOT TYPE and FUTUREWORLD on CBC, and hosted a series called THE CHANGE MAKERS, along with a series for PBS in the U.S. called MASTERS OF TECHNOLOGY.

Solomon is a co-founder of Shift magazine, an award-winning international magazine about technology and culture, for which he spent eight years as Editor-in-Chief (1991-2000). A published author, his first novel Crossing the Distance, published by McClelland & Stewart, was a bestseller. He also co-edited the best-selling 2004 book Fueling the Future: How the Battle Over Energy Will Change Everything, published by Anansi. It was finalist for both the National Business Book Award (NBBA) and the Canadian Science Writers Association General Audience Book Award.He also co-edited the award-winning 2005 book Feeding the Future: From Fat to FamineHow to Solve the World's Food Crisis. Solomon has also penned several children’s books under Puffin Classics Canada for Penguin Random House Canada.
