(Relaxnews) - Theatrical hit "Frozen" is set for a future as a Disney On Ice touring show starting in September.

The two-time Academy Award winner, which stands as the biggest earning animated film in cinematic history at an international box office of over $1.2 billion, will follow in the footsteps of former record holder "Toy Story 3" when it becomes an ice skating show this September, reports the New York Times.

With the film already featuring a strong musical repertoire and its frosty climate well suited to a Disney On Ice show, the "Frozen" tour will differ from the series' previous ensemble productions. Its focus will fall primarily on events found within the 2013 box office smash, rather than a rotation of recent Disney releases.

That said, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will host the show, with characters from "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo" and "The Lion King" among others due to make an appearance.

"Frozen" will debut in Orlando, Florida on September 5 with further announced dates across the U.S. through 2014 and 2015, Canadian stops in Montreal and Toronto during March 2015, and nine skating shows in all to tour overseas.
