Barbie is set to be reinvented in a live-action film penned by star screenwriter Diablo Cody.
The "Juno" scriptwriter has been hired by Sony Pictures to work on the project following a deal with Mattel and Parks+MacDonald/Image Nation, Deadline reports.
According to the site, the squeaky-clean fashion doll and global franchise is set to undergo a contemporary makeover with the introduction of Cody, who has a background as a stripper and whose past projects include the horror flick "Jennifer's Body".
