Former UCP and current independent MLAs Pete Guthrie and Scott Sinclair are trying to work with the Alberta Party as part of a plan to bring back the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta party. The UCP sent Guthrie a cease and desist to try and prevent them from using the PCAA brand.
