Woman charged after RCMP seize drugs, police body armour in east central Alberta

A woman faces multiple drug trafficking charges after RCMP executed a search warrant in east central Alberta following a monthslong investigation.

On Nov. 7, police searched a home in the village of Myrnam, about 150 kilometres east of Edmonton. Officers found nearly 400 pills, 250 grams of cocaine, ammunition, cash, police body armour and drug paraphernalia.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested and faces several charges including:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine;
• possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids;
• illegal possession of trafficking in government documents; and
• illegal possession of body armour.

Police say the woman was released and is to appear in court on Dec. 4.
