A well-known Edmonton doctor has died. Dr. Darren Markland, 54, died last Sunday, his family said in an obituary. A 54-year-old man from Edmonton was killed in a mountain bike crash near Nordegg just before 1 p.m. last Sunday. Dr. Markland was an ICU physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, becoming a prominent voice during the COVID-19 pandemic.
