A truck crashed into an LRT Wednesday morning in downtown Edmonton, confirmed city officials. The truck hit the southbound Valley Line train near the Churchill Station stop, causing minor delays to Valley Line service, said Ryan Birch, director of bus and security operations with the Edmonton Transit Service. Police said they received a report of the crash at 11:13 a.m. It was reported that the Valley Line was travelling eastbound on 102 Avenue on a green light when a truck that was also travelling eastbound turned northbound against a traffic sign and crashed into the train. No injuries were reported and police continue to investigate. Last week a crash occurred between an LRT train and a semi-truck in the area of 75 Street and 51 Avenue, derailing the train.
