Police are asking the public for help finding a hit-and-run driver who killed a 13-year-old boy last year. Adam Edhi was killed on May 29, 2024, after being hit by a car. His mother told CTV News Edmonton he was cycling to his girlfriend’s house to see her before school at the time. According to police, Edhi was riding on 34 Avenue east of 48 Street around 4 a.m. when he was hit by a car in the eastbound lanes. The driver left the scene and Edhi died shortly after paramedics arrived. The vehicle involved was identified as a blue 2017 Mazda 3 sedan, which sustained damage to the front end and drivers side when it hit the boy. On Thursday, police released a short video of the vehicle in the hopes to move the investigation forward. “While we are aware that significant time has passed, we have remained committed to ensuring that this incident is investigated to its fullest extent,” said Edmonton Police Service Acting Sgt. Chris Deslaurier. “We are hopeful that a member of the public will come forward with additional information about this vehicle or its driver, so we can provide some form of resolution to this young man’s family.” Information can be given to police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a cell phone.
