A one-time major farm-and-ranch retailer has returned to four central Alberta communities. Peavey Mart, which went into creditor protection and closed all 90 of its stores across Canada early this year, opened stores in Camrose and Lacombe on Tuesday and in Spruce Grove and Westlock on Thursday. The investment group that bought the rights to Peavey Mart’s name and intellectual property in April announced in August it would reopen in the four communities and has plans to have 12 stores open in other markets in which it used to operate, including Saskatchewan. The stores are serviced out of Red Deer County. Peavey Mart first opened in 1967 in Dawson Creek, B.C.
