Oilers to open 2026-27 season at home vs. Canucks

The NHL revealed its season-opening schedule with the Oilers set to play on day one. Edmonton will host Vancouver on Sept. 29.

The Edmonton Oilers’ full 2026-27 regular season schedule came out on Thursday.

The Oilers will open the new season on Tuesday, Sept. 29, against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place at 8 p.m. MT. They face the Canucks in Vancouver two days later.

The NHL expanded its regular season from 82 to 84 games starting with this campaign, increasing divisional games for all teams and reducing the amount of pre-season games.

The Oilers will face their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames, four times: Oct. 28, March 3, March 23 and April 5.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Edmonton on Oct. 24 and the Montreal Canadiens visit Rogers Place on Jan. 30.

Edmonton wraps up the regular season at home on April 10 against the Winnipeg Jets.
