Northern Alberta highways buried in a severe spring storm on Friday have reopened. Alberta RCMP said travel was still not recommended on Highway 63 and 881, despite being cleared and open in all directions. 511 Alberta has listed Highway 63 from Wandering River to the 881 junction as open, but says conditions are still poor and that non-essential travel should be postponed. An overnight storm left hundreds of vehicles stranded on Highway 63 into Friday. The road had remained closed for much of Saturday morning as crews attended to vehicles and cleared heavy snow drifts.
