A person with a confirmed case of measles was at a Spruce Grove clinic and pharmacy earlier this week. An infectious measles case was at the Tri Wellness MC Centre, a walk-in clinic on Tri Leisure Way in Spruce Grove, on Monday between 10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to a news release from health officials. An exposure warning was also issued for Mint Pharmacy, which is located next to the Tri Wellness centre, for the same time frame. Anyone who was at the pharmacy during that time, who was born in or after 1970 and has had fewer than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine or has never had measles, may be at risk for developing the illness. Symptoms of measles include a fever 38.3 C or higher; a cough, runny nose and/or red eyes; and a rash that appears three to seven days after fever begins. Anyone with measles symptoms is asked to stay home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting a health-care facility or doctor, including a family doctor clinic or a pharmacy.
