A man has been charged after police officers were attacked at an LRT station in downtown Edmonton earlier this month. Two police officers and a transit peace officer spotted a man drinking alcohol at Corona Station around 10:30 p.m. on March 1, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said on Monday. They approached him and the man allegedly pulled out a knife and tried to stab them, EPS said. No one was injured and the man was arrested. The man is also accused of robbing a liquor store in the area of Jasper Avenue and 113 Street about half an hour earlier. Morgan Banman, 33, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assaulting an officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and robbery.
